Guidance and use

  • The 2025-26 option uses the published PE and sport premium formula for England primary schools.
  • The 2026-27 option is an indicative transition estimate: the same formula reduced to 4/12 for one term.
  • For 2026-27, enter the October/autumn 2025 eligible pupil count you want to model until DfE confirms final allocation details.
  • DfE has announced the existing premium will be replaced from spring 2027, with a one-off GBP 100 million PE Premium payment to support primary schools during the transition year.
  • Payment dates are not modelled here because DfE has not published transition-payment dates.
  • The grant should not be used for core curriculum PE, direct teaching costs, or capital expenditure.

Important note

Indicative calculator only, not a legal allocation notice. For 2026-27, this tool applies 4/12 to the published 2025-26 formula for planning. It does not model payment dates because DfE has not published final transition-payment arrangements. Always verify funding, eligibility, conditions, and payment details against official DfE publications and communications.
